Our Campaigns
For decades, Bandhua Mukti Morcha has been working at the grassroots to challenge exploitation, protect rights and advance the dignity, freedom and well-being of vulnerable communities. Our campaigns bring together the liberation of bonded and child labourers, peaceful agitation, public awareness, empowerment of unorganised workers, and a range of other social initiatives. Through direct action, community mobilisation, advocacy, awareness-building and sustained engagement with authorities, these campaigns seek to secure justice, strengthen people’s voices, protect fundamental rights and create meaningful, lasting social change across communities.

Campaign for the Liberation of Bonded Labourers
Bandhua Mukti Morcha has undertaken a sustained campaign to identify, liberate and rehabilitate bonded labourers living and working under conditions of exploitation and economic bondage. The campaign combines field-level identification and investigation with intervention before government authorities, police and district administration to secure the release and legal recognition of bonded workers.
Beyond liberation, the campaign focuses on securing unpaid wages, government assistance, compensation and rehabilitation so that freed workers and their families can rebuild their lives with dignity and avoid falling back into bondage. The organisation’s documented interventions demonstrate a long-term commitment to fighting bonded labour through grassroots action, administrative engagement and continued follow-up.

Campaign for the Liberation of Child Labourers
Bandhua Mukti Morcha has undertaken a sustained campaign against child labour, working to identify children engaged in labour, secure their release and restore their right to education, dignity and a safe childhood. The campaign includes field investigations, interventions with government authorities, police and labor departments, and continued follow-up to support the rehabilitation of liberated children.
Besides direct action, the organization conducts awareness and training programs for children, youth, communities and officials on child rights and the harmful effects of child labour. The campaign seeks not only to remove children from labour, but to help them return to school and build a future free from exploitation.

Agitation & Movement Activities
Bandhua Mukti Morcha has used peaceful, democratic agitation as an important means of raising workers’ concerns and demanding action against exploitation and injustice. The organisation has organised rallies, demonstrations, dharnas, public meetings, marches and representations before government authorities, bringing workers’ issues to the attention of administration and policymakers.
These efforts have addressed bonded labour, exploitation, unpaid wages, minimum wages, bricks labour, construction labour, nomadic homeless tribes rehabilitation and other labour rights. The campaign has also involved direct dialogue with officials, submission of memoranda and collective mobilisation of workers to seek timely action and justice. Through sustained, non-violent public action and advocacy, the organisation has worked to strengthen workers’ voices and ensure accountability from the authorities.

Our Awareness Campaigns
Bandhua Mukti Morcha conducts awareness programs to educate workers, children, youth and communities about their rights, government schemes and the social and legal issues surrounding exploitation and labour. Through village meetings, awareness camps, training programs, public gatherings and community campaigns, the organization encourages people to recognize exploitation, understand their rights and seek appropriate support.
Special emphasis is placed on empowering local communities and young people to participate in social change. These programs aim to build awareness, confidence and collective action so that vulnerable communities can better protect their rights and access available government support.

Campaign for Unorganised Labour
Bandhua Mukti Morcha works to organise and empower unorganised workers by creating awareness about their labour rights, minimum wages and government welfare schemes. Through field visits, meetings, training programmes and consultations with workers and officials, the organisation helps workers understand and access available benefits and entitlements. Construction workers are being encouraged to register with the Rajasthan Labour Welfare Board.
The campaign also focuses on identifying workplace problems, supporting workers in raising their concerns, and strengthening collective action. By connecting workers with government departments and advocating for effective implementation of welfare measures, the organisation seeks to improve working conditions, social security and dignity for unorganised workers.

Our Other Activities
Bandhua Mukti Morcha has undertaken a wide range of activities beyond its core campaigns, reflecting its broader commitment to social justice, human rights and community empowerment. These include public meetings, seminars, workshops, training programmes, consultations, cultural and awareness events, participation in social movements, and engagement with government and civil society organisations. Organisation helps workers to benefit from various social security benefits and welfare schemes available to eligible workers. The organisation has also raised issues concerning workers, women, children and disadvantaged communities, while promoting education, equality and access to government support. Through these diverse initiatives, the organisation has continued to build public awareness, strengthen community participation and advance the rights and dignity of vulnerable people. We provide legal, social, and psychological counselling to young people who wish to enter into inter-caste marriages. We also publicly felicitate and honour couples who have already entered into inter-caste marriages and are leading happy and fulfilling lives.
